DITA GUHA
Dita is the first-born daughter of Bengali Indian immigrants. She grew up witnessing her parents’ tenacious work ethic, courage, and perseverance. Though her parents are highly educated, they had to start over when they immigrated to the United States in the 1970’s. Her parents proved to Dita every day that no job is too small, and every work experience is valuable.
At just eight years of age, Dita started her career answering phones at her father’s business. Thereafter, she graduated to being a cashier at her parents’ convenience store while attending high school at Elgin Academy in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago. While pursuing the education her parents consistently emphasized, Dita balanced various student service positions at the universities she attended.
After completing her master’s degree, Dita worked as a paralegal at one of the largest Injury law firms in Illinois. Dita later obtained her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in Chicago. During law school, Dita was selected as a teaching assistant to Professor Michelle Cue (a professor of Legal Writing). She also served as a research assistant to Professor Zoe Robinson (a professor of Constitutional Law).
As a lawyer, Dita gained a diverse array of experience at some of Chicago’s largest law firms, and she is well-practiced in large-scale litigation for corporate clients. She is also passionate about serving the complex legal needs of individuals and municipalities. Presently, Dita concentrates her practice in the areas of municipal law and complex civil litigation.
Dita is licensed in both Illinois and Indiana. When she is not practicing law, Dita cherishes spending time with her friends and family.
